Nahim Yakub is a highly experienced housing leader and consultant with over 20 years of specialist expertise across the housing and compliance sector. He began his career at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and has since held senior positions within national housing associations, not-for-profit organisations, charities, and private property management companies, supporting their growth while strengthening compliance frameworks.
Nahim holds a BA (Hons) in Housing Studies, a Fire Safety Diploma, and multiple Health and Safety accreditations, giving him the technical insight and regulatory expertise to deliver safe, compliant, and trauma-informed housing solutions.
Currently, Nahim works one day a week as our head of housing, dedicating the rest of his time to consultancy, training, and sector innovation. This blended role allows him to remain rooted in frontline practice while contributing to wider compliance design, policy development, and community-focused resources.
Throughout his career, Nahim has:
• Led multi-site housing operations for charities and national providers
• Specialised in compliance and safeguarding, translating complex fire and health standards into clear, practical frameworks
• Driven sector innovation by developing training resources, myth-busting guidance, and compliance templates for staff induction and community engagement
Today, Nahim is recognised as a principal consultant and sector innovator, supporting organisations to strengthen compliance, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable impact across housing and community services.
