Shelly has worked with Supporting Lives since 2018. She oversees the South Shields supported living accommodation.

Shelly created a candle business prior to becoming a support worker. A single mum who fell in love with the support worker role and its residents. She wanted to ensure the residents got the care and support that was truly deserved as she felt that these people had been forgotten and their voices were not listened to.

Shelly wants to ensure that all of the staff have the same values and understanding that the residents need so they can be helped along the right path through encouragement and support. One of the best parts of the job is seeing the residents move on. It’s one of the most rewarding things to work together to get the residents housed and with the prospects of a job.

“I hope we can grow the organisation so we can continue to offer a place to call home to as many as possible.”

Shelly enjoys socialising and going on holiday.
