Shelly has been a dedicated member of Supporting Lives since 2018, where she currently oversees the supported living accommodation in South Shields.

Prior to her role as a support worker, Shelly established a candle-making business. As a single mother, she developed a passion for supporting others and quickly grew to love her role in care and her residents. She is committed to ensuring that residents receive the compassionate and respectful care they deserve, advocating for their voices to be heard and their needs prioritised.

Shelly is dedicated to fostering a unified team that shares the same values and understanding of the residents’ needs. She believes that through encouragement and support, residents can be guided towards positive outcomes. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is witnessing residents progress — finding housing and securing employment, which she considers a true achievement.

“I hope we can expand our organisation so that we can continue to provide a safe and welcoming place to call home for as many individuals as possible.”

In her personal time, Shelly enjoys socialising and going on holidays.
